How to Clean Day and Night Blinds
Day and night blinds combine sheer and dense fabric stripes. Choose a cleaning method from the fabric code and manufacturer’s instructions; removing and washing the blind is not suitable for every product.

Find the product label, order reference and care sheet before choosing a cleaning method. Sheer bands, coated fabric and bonded parts can have different limits. If instructions are missing, ask the supplier for product-specific advice before removing the cloth from its tube.
Gentle dry care
Use light dusting or a soft vacuum brush only where the manufacturer permits it. Avoid pulling the fabric or pressing on the band edges. Hunter Douglas describes gentle dusting and vacuuming for its own banded shades; that guidance does not replace the instructions for another product.
Stains and wet cleaning
Spot cleaning is appropriate only when the care sheet permits the method and cleaning agent. Soaking, pressure washing and machine washing are not general cleaning methods for day and night blinds. Check compatibility before using bleach, steam, a stiff brush or professional dry cleaning.
Drying and winding
Keep the chain, tube and motorised components dry. After an approved damp treatment, follow the specified drying arrangement and avoid winding damp fabric into a closed roll. Stop operating a blind that winds unevenly, snags or shows coating damage, and have both fabric and mechanism checked.
